250 cc V-twin with four speed tranmission, shaft drive, 12-volt electrical system with electric start, using Mitsubishi dynamo / starter motor combo.  Full nut and bolt restoration completed October 1987 with only 1,800 miles since the completion with zero problems. All layers of paint stripped to bare metal: the primer and original black. Refinished all painted parts using DuPont Imron polyurethane. All aluminum castings are polished and finished with clear polyurethane meaning no more oxidation. State-of-the-art electrical additions / modifications include electronic voltage regulator and cutout circuit, high-energy electronic ignition system, all new wiring and connectors, all cabling protected with PVC sleeving insulation and more.  Battery is a gel-cell, with no leakage problem and has higher capacity. Engine, transmission, final drive unit have been fully rebuilt.  Engine has improved oiling-spray system for improved crankshaft / connecting rod lubrication.  Plus an external Honda oil filter for extended life and reliability for the engine. Fork legs and sliders rebuilt with new seals. New K&N cloth oil-impregnated air cleaner for much improved operation. All new design seals and gasket material. Used RTV and Yamabond sealants--- DOES NOT LEAK oil. There are very few Marusho Lilac LS-18s on the antique market, and none as well put together as this one! Ready for show or go!
